Just Merch, a print fulfillment company working primarily within the music industry, wanted to amplify its brand. They felt their presence was bland and didn’t represent the vibrancy and variety of their audience.

The task was to vectorize their logo while making visual improvements, such as creating a responsive brand system and developing an identity and style guide.

Bold and Beautiful

They wanted to maintain the overall feel of the logotype but add some flair and personality. They originally only had one logo variation (shown below) which made it difficult for them to design around. I created stacked variations of the logo and removed the slogan, barcode, and outlines in favor of solid letterforms. We then decided to add a price tag and barcode as visual elements that could support the primary logo.

Brand Style Guide

We then developed a brand style guide for Just Merch to outline their voice & tone, use of color, typography, and other brand elements.

We settled on a bold color palette inspired by the CMYK printing process to further enforce their capabilities for print production, but also so that the bright colors would stand out and demand attention.

Merch Concepts

As a merchandise service provider, Just Merch saw the need to have it’s own line of apparel and accessories that they’d be proud to wear at concerts and other events. I created expressive designs for them to be printed on shirts, hoodies and jackets.

Work as a contract designer

Through my partnership with Just Merch, I also have the opportunity to work with some of the brands they support. This is a brief selection of work that I’ve produced for several of their clients.
